So, last July I wrote my first drabble. And it wasn't so great. But it is my first piece of "published" fanfic, so I've decided to post it here. And yes, the timing is suspect. I figure that if LJ wants to persecute the fandoms, I may as well show just how involved in the fandom I am. Also, hopefully, by the end of August, I will have a novel length fic ready to post (It's of much better quality than this. promise. -.~) so I'm warming you up now. :-)

So... I spend the day with my new husband and what do I come back to? A most disturbing witchhunt. I came to lj because of the fandom. If it goes, I go and with the fandom count so high, I doubt I'll be the only one. I've already emailed lj my thoughts and am now looking into other methods of protest. I'm GETTING married!! Yes, that's right. On May 13th, I will be a married woman! *SQUEE*

AH! Last night, watching the episode "Merry Little Christmas," I so wanted to be morally outraged. The problem? I didn't know who to be outraged at! Grrr... So, since I don't have the patience to go through the comments at house_wilson (there are like 400 of the things) and as the semester is almost over, I'm going to work through my issues with the episode here.

The preview of the January 9th episode may have something to do my House love as well. I laughed SO HARD at the looks on the Ducklings' faces when House said he was checking himself into rehab! And that last bit, when he gets a call in court, and he says "Cuddy, I thought I told you never to call me when I'm on trial." OMG! LOL! I cannot wait until the 9th! (Which, coincidentally will be the last episode I get to see in real time. From then on, I'll be watching the episodes after class on my TiVo... BTW, I GET A TIVO FOR CHRISTMAS! AND HOUSE MD SEASON ONE! AH! HOW COOL! [/fangirling]

I went Christmas shopping today with my fiance. We spent over $600 on gifts for our families and friends. It was so much fun! We haven't been able to splurge on Christmas, ever! So this year we saved up and went a bit crazy. We've got two more gifts to buy, and I may have to exchange C's present (BUT SHE HAS TO EMAIL ME BACK FIRST ::hint hint C::), but other than that, we are SO ready for Christmas. I can't wait. ::sigh:: I love this time of year. No school, lots of family time - my SIL is coming up to see me next weekend and that is so cool! We got lucky and became best friends rather than just SILs. I love it when we get to visit; it doesn't happen nearly enough.

Okay, once again, I have used lj as an enabler for my procrastination. My partner and I are working on our LAST final for the semester and it's due in a very short amount of time. So I'm off.

Yay! 16 weeks of backbreaking, time consuming, mind melting research is OVER! Whoo hoo! And we won the debate! ::giggle:: I'm such a geek -- it was just an in-class debate, but after the work my partner and I put into our case, it was very VERY nice to win. And I got an A on the Neg case that we built... and won, BTW... ;) My prof wants me to become an intercollegiate debater, but the uni I'm transferring to doesn't have a debate team. However, there's a chance that I could do a partnership with one of the many St. Louis Unis that do have one. I may even be able to do one at the school my current partner is transferring to. We work really well together, and it would be cool to continue working with her. She's so much fun! And even during an 8 hour research period we managed to have fun! Now, I plan to go drown my exhaustion in House fanfics. Yay for House! Oh... and I'm getting a TiVo for Christmas, so next semester I won't have to miss House when I'm at class. :) Yay!

It's odd. I thought that, after Nano was over, I wouldn't want to write here anymore, but I was wrong. :) It's kind of fun, in an odd sort of way.

So... I've found a new fandom, yay! I love House MD! Not that I need another, but I've only got three, so I think I'm handling this fanfic addiction that I seem to have. -.~ I am now a devoted House/Wilson and House/Chase shipper. Yay for slash! My other fandoms, for those that have unfortunately stumbled upon this journal and have no clue who I am, are Harry Potter and Gundam Wing. And I slash both. :)

I just found out that my hated Bio class, which I've been dealing with since August, won't transfer to the school I want to transfer to. grrr. Can we say annoying? I'd drop the class, but there's a chance that it might count towards my Gen Ed block if I transfer with an Associates Degree. So that's good, if it works.

hmm... well, for a ramble, this is pretty short, but I'm reading a great House fic right now, so I'm a wee bit distracted.

Well, tomorrow's it. The last day of Nanowrimo. I have exactly 7,382 words. Yes. I barely broke 7K. What went wrong between planning in October and now? Life. In my defense, I was only able to write 6 times. 6 days out of the 29 we've had so far. Mean teachers, why didn't they care that I've been trying to become a marathon writer? ::sigh:: I can't blame them. Plenty of other people have school and still made the deadline.
